Découvrir l'Afrique du Sud
Sors ta tête du sable

The tradition of winemaking in the Olifant's River Valley can be traced back more than 200 years, with a well-known 18th Century explorer referring to the "delectable grapes" of the region.

This wine route with its stark contrasts and extraordinary beauty starts at Citrusdal 180 kilometers outside of Cape Town and stretches to the country's most westerly vineyards at Lutzville. Lutzville is regarded as one of the most ideal wine growing areas due to its mild climate, misty mornings, sunny days and south westerly sea breeze and soil that varies from sandy to red clay loams.

The Olifant's River wine region is currently represented by 9 cellars producing wine under varied climatic and soil conditions.

Keeping abreast with state-of-the-art equipment and trends, all the cellars have already positioned themselves well on the local and overseas wine market.
