Green Point Park & Biodiversity Garden

The Green Point Park is next to the Cape Town Stadium and is intrinsically connected to it as the stadium finances the upkeep of the park from ticket sales. The park consists of 12.5 hectares of land with four main entrances (North, South, East and West) and is owned by the City of Cape Town, forming part of their Green Goal legacy. In keeping with the Green Goal legacy the run-off water from the roof of the Cape Town Stadium is also used to water the park’s gardens as part of the resource saving mechanism built into the design of the stadium. The park has been listed as the 5th most visited attraction in Cape Town.

Green Point Park is serving a vital function in education for school children by giving learners an opportunity to see for themselves what nature and biodiversity is all about.
