Beit Bridge, Musina Rural, Limpopo
The Cape to Cairo road crosses the Limpopo River boundry between South Africa and Zimbabwe by means of a road and rail bridge, 474 meters long, in 14 spans.
The Bridge was built by funds provided by Alfred Beit, the mining financier and colleague of Cecil Rhodes and was consequently named after him. It was opened in 1929.
The name also refers to the border post which forms the political border between South Africa and Zimbabwe.
