H4-1
The H4-1 is one of the Parks more active roads, with a mix of riverine forest, woodland and thorn thickets attracting a wide variety of bird and animal species.
Many of Kruger's raptors can be seen along the Sabie river, which can be seen all along the H4-1. The Nkuhlu Picnic spot provides wonderful views over the river reed beds, where elephant herds are often seen.
Birders may see White-crowned lapwing, African Finfoot, Black Cuckoo-shrike, Half-collared Kingfisher and Red-faced Cisticola.
