The Hot spring at Tshipise has grown into a popular holiday resort, with outdoor swimming pools, private baths , a hotel, hundreds of rondavels and a caravan site set amid natural parkland.
In 1969 it was claimed that the waters of Tshipise cured diabetes and the spring enjoyed an unprecedented boom. Medical tests threw doubt on the claim, but the resort continues to attract thousands of visitors every year, especially during the cool winter months.
Tshipise is an ideal destination for travellers to and from Zimbabwe, and within comfortable travelling distance from the Kruger National Park with the Pafuri Gate only 105km away. The town is a popular destination for guests who want to escape the winter cold as it offers a year-round warm climate.
Giant baobab trees dot the landscape.
