Sabie Rivier Gholfbaan in Hazyview, Mpumalanga
Sabie River Sun Golf Course is situated in Hazyview in the Mpumalanga Province, South Africa.
The course is an 18-hole, 74 Par Parklands style golf course with Kikuyu Grass Fairways and Bayview Greens. The course is 5 990 meters in length.
The golf course was designed by Dale Hayes and Peter Matkovitch and is undoubtedly one of the most scenic courses in the golfing scene and is ranked among South Africa’s top ten golf courses. The course was originally established by local farmers looking for nearby recreation and is currently only one of only four golf courses in the Province and the mild climate of the region allows for year round playability.
The course offers a good game to both beginners and expert golfers and water features come into play on all but four holes. Being so close to the Sabie Sands Game Reserve, it’s not surprising that a few hippos and crocodiles have taken up permanent residence on a few of the waterways, so don’t try to retrieve any lost balls! The course is also home to approximately 200 species of bird, adding to the breathtaking natural beauty of the surrounds.
Set in the lush countryside of the Lowveld and close to the Kruger National Park means a trip to the golf course should be combined with safari.
