SkyCar & Viewing Platform in Stamford Hill, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Take your Durban Trip to new Heights!
The SkyCar at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal of South Africa is situated in the city of Durban.
The Stadiums iconic “arch of triumph” has provided Durban with a landmark to rival the London Eye or the Sydney Opera House. The shape of the iconic arch was inspired by the “Y shape” on the South African flag and is 106 metres high. It not just a design feature, the SkyCar takes visitors to its highest point where they can step out on to a platform and experience 360˚ views of Durban. Look one way and see the breathtaking views of the city and look the other way for views of the ocean, as far as the eye can see.
The single cabin SkyCar begins its journey running along steel tracks on the northern arch and it is designed to roll back down the arch on its own gravity. This was designed so it could return to the lower station even in the event of a power failure.
The SkyCar is a must-see attraction for locals and tourists.
