South Africa
plekke wat jy nooit sal vergeet nie

The Beachwood Golf Course was taken over by the Durban Country Club in the early 1990’s and now serves as the second golfing estate at the prestigious Club. The golf course lies north of the DCC Golf Course, separated by the Umgeni River.

The course is an 18-hole, 72 Par, Semi-Links style golf course with Cynodon Grass Fairways and Paspalum Grass Greens. The length of the Club Course is 6 016m, designed by South African legend Gary Player.

The Beachwood course is a true hidden gem, last rated 29 on the Readers Digest Top 100 Golf Courses in South Africa. It offers a superb challenge for any golfer with 41 bunkers around the greens and 33 fairway bunkers and most fairways are lined with trees. Four of the 18 beautiful holes feature water hazards. Being a beach club, running alongside the Indian ocean, the Beachwood Course is open to sever wind conditions however the layout has curbed this as much as possible with tall overhanging trees bordering individual holes. The plus side of course with such a location are the stunning ocean views from almost every hole!

A unique feature of this premier golf course is that it shares its northern boundary with the Virginia Airport, a small light aircraft airport which adds an exciting element to your round of golf watching these aircraft take off and land directly overhead.

Beachwood Golf Course is maintained with the same diligence and care as that of the Country Club course and offers five-star facilities. The Course is open to the public, but be sure to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
