Mandela Day Treasure Hunt "100 Locks"

100 Locks Break the Chain

Woodrock Animal Rescue presents the Mandela Day Treasure Hunt: 100 Locks which will take place at their premises on 15 July 2018 for the Mandela Day Centenary Celebration.

With a view and understanding of immense respect for a leader that was incarcerated for 27 years, Woodrock are hosting an event with a mindfulness and observation. Join in the fun at this incredible event and leave your footprint at Woodrock Animal Rescue. Make a commitment to our animals who are locked away without a choice, without a voice.

This year Woodrock have upped their game! When you arrive, you will get a chain and lock attached to your arm. You will then hunt for the key to unlock and free yourself.  Woodrock will give you a “Treasure Hunt” script to follow around Woodrock premises. Once you have found your key, you can unlock the lock and chain. A feeling of freedom! Like Mandela’s journey to freedom.

The lock will then be locked onto on the fence at the entrance to our shelter known as the “Bridge of commitment to animals”. By doing so you will be locking your heart into animal welfare. This lock will be your commitment to a great man’s vision. Taking the key home with you, will be a reminder of the animals locked away without a voice, without a choice, that depend on Man.

Refresments will be on sale or bring along your own picnic to enjoy in the valley and beautiful surrounds of the Woodrock premises.

"We dedicate this day to all the heroes and heroines in South Africa who want to make this world a better place” DR. Nelson Mandela.
