Steynsburg is a true little Karoo town, surrounded by koppies and mountains, with other small towns as neighbours such as Hofmeyr, Molteno and Burgersdorp.
At only 17.4 square kilometres in area, and home to only about 8000 residents, Steynsburg is the ideal destination for peace and tranquillity and is thus luring new residents from all over the country. There are a range of facilities from the usual banks, filing stations, clinic, shops and cafés as well as a quaint farmer’s co-op, small library and 9-hole golf course.
The beauty of the area, combined with its secluded location, is also drawing tourists who wish to break away and experience the natural countryside for some relaxation. Visitors will experience hot summers with beautiful sunsets and star-filled night skies and in winter perhaps even snow. Hiking, biking and 4X4 trails can be found in the surrounding area and the small towns neighbours have a few activities and places of interest to visit.
Steynsburg has a long history of its own with a few historic buildings to admire, including former President Paul Kruger’s home on neighbouring farm “Bulhoek”.
There are only two accommodation options within the town, but the surrounding area offers a wide range of other accommodation options.
