Tzaneen Golf Couse in Tzaneen, Limpopo

Tzaneen Golf Course is situated 10 km outside Tzaneen in the Limpopo Province, South Africa.

The course is an 18-hole, 72 Par Bushveld golf course with Indigenous Fairways and Greens. The course is 6 308 meters in length and was designed by J Bullock. It was first established as a nine hole golf course in 1960 when the Hans Merensky Trust donated the grounds to the Tzaneen Club. In 1964 the second nine holes were added and are today known as the back nine.

The front nine holes have long curving fairways, perfect for players with long drives, while the back nine boasts trickier slopes and angles giving the game a bit more edge. The courses two sides create a unique challenge, yet still cater to all levels of golfers. The course is a picturesque beauty, a little undiscovered gem with towering green mountains as a back drop.

A four day tournament called the Koraalboom is held annually at the course, a tradition that has seen many visitors returning for over 35 years.

Fees

Green fees are between R130 and R180. Prices are subject to change so it is recommended that interested parties contact the Golf Course directly. Visitors are welcome seven days a week.

Climate

Tzaneen experiences a more than average rainfall all year round, with the highest occurring between November and February.

Summer months, October to March will experience average temperatures of between 18˚C to 31˚C. 

Winter months, May to August, will bring temperatures down to between 8˚C and 24˚C.

Transport

There are daily flights from Johannesburg into the Hendrik van Eck Airport in Phalaborwa. Car rental companies are available for easy access to Tzaneen, approximately and hour and 20 minutes away. Road trips from Johannesburg via the N1 and R71 will take approximately four and a half hours.
