Twee Jonge Gezellen in Tulbagh & vicinity, Western Cape
The Home of Krone MCC
In 1710, two young men founded the Tulbagh Farm and the locals began referring to it as the “the farm owned by two young bachelors” – “Twee Jonge Gezellen”, and the name has stuck for over 300 years. The Twee Jonge Gezellen Estate lies cradled in the valley with vineyards reaching up the eastern slopes of the Saron Peak and the cellar lies underground at the foot of the mountain.
The Estate specialises in the production of bottle-fermented Krone Sparkling Wines, with a dedicated range of Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) products on offer. Méthode Cap Classique is the term which describes the South African bottle-fermented production of sparkling wines in the French Méthode champenoise style.
The historic farm is open to the public for tastings and tours. The Estate has been recently restored in order to ensure its impressive heritage and contemporary renaissance. The sheer beauty of the Valley will be well worth your visit.
