Robberg 5 Beach

Robberg 5 Beach is situated along Beachy Head Drive, just south of the Beacon Isle Hotel, towards the Robberg Peninsula. It is the beautiful stretch of beach that links the central Plettenberg Bay beaches with the Robberg Peninsula Nature Reserve and is considered to be Plettenberg Bay’s finest.

The sea is warm and calm, therefore perfect for swimming, the beach is long and sandy, therefore perfect for walks and the beauty of the area makes Robberg a delightful beach to get away to.

This popular Blue Flag Beach has full-time lifeguards on duty during the peak season from 1 November – 31 April and the recently upgraded facilities make it user-friendly for those who are physically disabled. Interpretive signage provides details and descriptions of the fauna and flora to be found in this area.

It is a favourite with families, joggers, surfers, swimmers, dolphin fans, and for those who just want to chill. During winter the Southern Right whales come up close to shore and calve in the bay.

Take a leisurely walk along the beach for tea and scones served on the verandah at the Beacon Isle Hotel or comb the sands in search of the flower-shaped Pansy shell, endemic to this coastline and symbolic of Plettenberg Bay.
