Uban’inkunzi Culture and Sport Festival

Experience True African Culture

Each year, for three days between Christmas and New Year, a celebration of culture and sport is hosted at a place called Entababusuku, formerly known as Donkerhoek, about 45 km outside of Piet Retief. It all began in December 2008 when the Uban’inkunzi Culture and Sport Festival first took place with the aim of the festival was to find and promoting new talent while preserving our indigenous music and dance.

Today the Uban’inkunzi Culture and Sport Festival is a premier event that attracts locals and tourists from all over the world who come to see and learn about our cultures as South Africans. Everyone is welcome to not only experience the amazing cultural display, but to participate in adventure activities such as swimming, fishing, quad biking, hiking and many more outdoor lifestyle events.

The Festival promises three days of wonderful entertainment with performances from comedy and poetry to dance and drumming. The festivities kick off with the Gogo’s opening the Festival with their Fun Walk and full days’ activities. Book your Granny in early and then enjoy a unique three day South African Festival!
