Culture, Nature, Pleasure

The Afrikaans Language Monument (Taalmonument) is situated on Paarl Mountain in the Paarl Mountain Reserve. To learn more about the history of Afrikaans, this would be the right place to visit. The roots of the Afrikaans language can be traced back to three continents, namely Europe, Asia and Africa. It was to give recognition to these diverse origins of the language, that the architect, Jan van Wijk, designed the Taalmonument.
