N'wanetsi Picnic Spot

N'wanetsi Picnic Spot is located in the central Lebombo, with a thatched shelter overlooking the Sweni River gorge.  Here you have impressive views of the surrounding mountains and Mozambique.

The name N'wanetsi is derived from the Shangaan description for "shimmering water".

This used to be a private camp for senior government officials during the apartheid days. It was often used by then Prime Minister Hendrik Verwoerd.
