Mazithi Dam

One of Kruger's favourite dams is Mazithi, located just south of the S33/S37 cross with the H1-3.

This is a great place for late afternoon photography, and if you are lucky you might find a whole herd of elephants coming to drink.

General game and waterbirds such as Egyptian geese are common here. Also look for the red-billed buffalo weavers that build their large twig nests in the dead trees around the dam.
