Découvrir l'Afrique du Sud
Sors ta tête du sable

Hawston Beach is tucked away in the little town of Hawston on the coast as one drives from Kleinmond towards Hermanus. One may miss this little hamlet of Hawston, if you don’t know it’s there, but is well worth a stop as it boasts one of the most gorgeous beaches on the Cape coast!

Hawston Beach has been a Blue Flag beach since 2013 and it’s no wonder since it offers some of the safest swimming water along the Western Cape coastline, plus it has the added perk of seldom being crowded. The beach is truly beautiful with sweeping views of mountains and an extensive dune system which stretches for some distance. As the dune systems around the beach are protected, please ensure you keep to the boardwalks. Visitors can also learn more about the unique vegetation and natural resources of this area from its interpretive signage.

Hawston Beach is well known for its whale and dolphin spotting opportunities and there is plenty of birdlife that call the area home. The serenity is wonderful for long walks on this immaculate beach and relaxing sun bathing while the kids can enjoy playing in the water. Lifeguards are on duty between December and March.

Facilities include ample parking, picnic and braai areas as well as a restaurant and swimming pool adjacent to the beach.

Still rustic and very rural, Hawston Beach is well worth a visit!
