Ann Bryant Art Gallery in KwaZulu-Natal of South Africa is situated in the city of  East London.

Mrs Ann Bryant bequeathed the beautiful Edwardian building, complete with its full collection of art that she had obtained over 20 years, to the city of East London in 1946. Hers’ was the first permanent collection of art in the gallery when The Ann Bryant Gallery officially opened in 1947. Through its permanent collection of fine and decorative art the gallery tries to increase the aesthetic awareness of cultural diversity.

It has a strong collection of South African Art, particularly from the 1960’s and earlier, and promotes the work of prominent Eastern Cape Artists. The gallery has a collection of about 350 works and adds to it each year with funding from the East London City Council. Temporary exhibitions are also held at the Coach House to highlight the talents of artists from all over South Africa.

Climate

East London has rainfall in the summer months.

Summer months, November to March will have average temperatures of between 15˚C and 27˚C.

Winter months, May to August will have average temperatures of between 9˚C and 22˚C.

Transport

There are Domestic flights into  East London Airport on a daily basis. Hotel transfers, taxis and car rental companies are available for easy access around the area.
