History
The name Salt Rock originates from King Shaka’s days when his handmaidens and servants would collect dried salt off the rocks at low tide to trade with the early settlers.
Since then, Salt Rock gained much of its history from the Hulett family after Basil and his wife Gwen established the Salt Rock Hotel and went on to develop the town as it is found today.
