Rocklands Beach in Three Anchor Bay, Cape Town, Western Cape
Rocklands Beach is another small beach located just off the popular Sea Point Promenade. It is situated between Mouille Point Beach and Milton Beach and within easy walking distance of restaurants and other activities along the Promenade.
The beach got its name from the original property that was built here, which stretched from the shore line till the main road. You will find some steps leading onto this secluded beach which is a great spot for families with children. There is a small area where you can slip into the sea for a chilly swim at this rocky beach. This rather small beach also offers a great spot to enjoy the soft white sand, take in the lovely scenery and work on your tan.
Rocklands Beach is also a popular surf spot in Sea Point, surfing conditions are best in a southeaster wind, but can work in a southwester too.
Sea Point is known for being pet friendly and the community try to accommodate dog owners by having designated “free-running” areas along the Sea Point coastline where dogs can run and play off their leads. Rocklands Beach is near the animal-themed Promenade Pets benches, here you can rest on one of these pieces of public art, the seats of the benches are held up by pairs of blue seagulls, black sea lions and pink poodles.
This area is also home to the annual Paws on the Promenade dog walk fundraiser.
