The World’s Most Beautiful Marathon

The Two Oceans Marathon, sponsored by Old Mutual, continues to attract eager athletes year after year to Cape Town to test their endurance levels in a race considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful marathons.

Runners can choose to compete in the very challenging 56 kilometre Ultramarathon, the 21 kilometre half marathon or various associated trail and fun runs, suitable for all ages. The main events being the 56 km and 21 km races have developed into the biggest and most popular road races in the nation and attracts over 20 000 athletes each year.

Participants begin this gruelling Ultramarathon in Newlands and follow the road toward Noordhoek after which the most spectacular portion of the marathon begins, Chapman’s Peak. As previous runners will know, the toughest and most challenging section of the Two Oceans Marathon is the mountain climb known as “Suikerbossie Pass”. After Chapman’s Peak scenery, Hout Bay’s flat roads and then this gigantic climb, runners are rewarded with the view of the Atlantic Ocean from the top of the hill. So hit the ground running and join in the ultimate test of endurance with a breath-taking view.

The Two Oceans Marathon Expo offers all sports enthusiast an opportunity to experience the latest trends in running. The Expo has become more than just a running expo and now includes not only top sporting brands, but supplements, outdoor adventure sporting  goods and tours plus so much more!

Entry   : The entry limit was reached on 2 November 2016, and entries are now closed
