Chintsa Beach

On the Wild Coast lies the gorgeous Chintsa, divided in two by a pristine river estuary. Chintsa’s eastern side is mainly made up of holiday and retirement homes, and is much larger than the western side, here lies the areas main beach, aptly named Chintsa Beach.

Forming part of the Standloper Hiking Trail, Chintsa Beach is 17 km long and is the perfect place for joggers or for anyone who likes long walks on the beach. The beach is safe for swimming and a popular place for surfers and families with small kids who will enjoy swimming in the lagoon.

The beach is quite unspoilt and not as busy as East London’s beaches. It offers incredible beauty and spectacular views, plus in season you will be able to dolphin and whale watch all day. Popular during holiday season, but visitors will always find an open spot and not feel too crowded.

Having lots of space, the beach welcomes all sorts of beach games like volleyball, kite flying and of course, sand castle building! Any holiday maker should make sure to add this wonderful beach to their places to go list.
