A Country Winter Christmas
The month of June sees the very scenic town of Tulbagh decorated with Christmas lights and Christmas Trees! The beautiful village, just an hour and a half from Cape Town, takes its Christmas in Winter Festival very seriously, giving it their all to create the best Christmas winter wonderland for its residents and visitors!
Over the weekend of the 23rd June, Tulbagh will be decked out in yuletide lights and décor and all the shops, bars, restaurants and museums get involved in keeping the atmosphere of Christmas alive. Restaurants offer Christmas-inspired menus and plenty of glühwein, to keep the chills at bay and the party going. It wouldn’t be Christmas if Father Christmas didn’t make an appearance, so expect to see him riding through the streets handing out treats to all children!
June is the perfect time of year to experience the natural beauty of the Tulbagh Valley, so be sure to meander through the countryside before leaving this part of the country. Drive through and visit the wine estates, stroll down Church Street and experience three hundred years of history, visit the theatre for a show or simply sit back and enjoy the festivities, beauty and tranquillity of the Valley!
