South Africa’s Answer to a Winter Christmas
The month of June sees the very scenic town of Tulbagh decorated with lights and Christmas Trees! The beautiful village, just an hour and a half from Cape Town, takes its Christmas in Winter Festival seriously and offers its June visitors the ultimate winter wonderland experience.
Over the weekend of the 25th June, Tulbagh will be decked out in yuletide lights and décor and all the shops, bars, restaurants and museums get involved in keeping the atmosphere of Christmas alive and the chills at bay with various specials and festive entertainment. Restaurants offer Christmas-inspired menus and plenty of glühwein and of course Father Christmas makes an appearance, riding through the streets handing out treats to children!
June is the perfect time of year to experience the natural beauty of the Tulbagh Valley, so be sure to meander through the countryside for the best scenic shots of the Valley. Drive through and visit the wine estates, stroll down Church Street and experience three hundred years of history, visit the theatre for a show or simply sit back and enjoy the festivities, beauty and tranquillity of the Valley!
