Struisbaai Beach in Argonauta, Struis Bay (Struisbaai), Western Cape
Struisbaai Beach in the quaint, yet popular holiday town of Struisbaai, is truly remarkable with its white sand and seemingly endless coastline. This stretch of white sand coastline is in fact the longest stretch of white beach in the Southern Hemisphere!
Struisbaai Beach is a naturally wonderful spot for long walks and its stunning surroundings makes walking alongside the waters edge very relaxing. The scenery as well as the busy fishing harbour, a short walk further up the beach, with white washed homes and colourful fishing boats attracts many photographers and artists whose work can be seen in galleries across the country. The Harbour is also a great spot to meet the fishermen as they come in with their catch and get some fresh fish for dinner or to watch out for the large black rays that can often be found in the harbour and are a remarkable sight to see.
Swimming is safe at the beach and the beach is a fantastic spot for water sports like kayaking, boating, surfing, body boarding, fishing, and kite surfing, as well as shell collecting, beach strolls, and whale watching. The little resort town offers many little restaurants and pubs nearby where visitors to the beach can get refreshments after a day at the beach!
