The Strand Farmers Market is a small affair, but has a lot on offer from food and produce to secondhand flea market items and everything in-between. The Market can be found in the suburb of the Strand, just a 10 minute drive outside of Somerset West.

The Market is held at the Dutch Reformed Church once a week and all the stalls are operated by the local elderly community of the Strand. Most of the crafts on offer are handmade and sourced locally and the treats are just as tasty as those you remember your Mom making!

There is plenty of goodwill among the elderly stall owners and the atmosphere is friendly, while the local flavours divine! The option of take away lunches means even if you are just driving through the Strand, stopping for your road trips’ “padkos” (on the road food) is a must. The market offers more than usual and makes for an interesting outing for the family so be sure to include this venue on your next free Friday morning!
