South Africa
places you will never forget

Simons Town Golf Course is set alongside the ocean in False Bay, just outside of Simon’s Town. This course could not have been built in a more scenic location and the members boast that you are able to see the sea from every tee and every green.

The course is a 9-hole links style course with water hazards, which is played from different markers to give golfers the full 18-hole experience. It is 4148 metres long and has a rating of 62. It is also affiliated to the SAGA and a member of the Western Province Golf Union.

It was established in 1913 and hosts “Chicken Run” competitions every Friday afternoon over 9 holes. Pensioners competitions take place on Mondays and Fridays and member’s competitions are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Visitors who have an official handicap are more than welcome to enter the member’s competitions and show their skills.

Playing a game here can be rather challenging due to the strong south-eastern wind in the early summer months. It has led to many robust recovery sessions on the 19th. The fairways as well as a few small greens have a natural slope towards the sea, ensuring that every player be careful and consider every shot they make!

Boulders Beach lies right next to the course offering golfers the unique experience of a penguin sometimes wandering onto the course in the early summer months. On a good day, golfers may even spot a whale in the bay while they play their round.
