The Sunshine Coast route in the Eastern Cape runs along the coast between St Francis Bay and East London.

It is the right description for this stretch of coastline with its temperate climate that has more recorded sunshine hours than anywhere else in the country, its warm Mozambican current assuring warm sea temperatures throughout the year, its water sports, sheltered coves, eco-walks, rock pools and nature reserves.

With maximum temperatures seldom going above 27 degrees or below 8 degrees, there is no wonder why so many people from other areas in South Africa, especially Capetonians with their dismal wet winters, make this area their favourite playground.

The Sunshine Coast is 393 kilometers (244 miles) long.
