The Nyala road, S63, is a beautiful, shady sand road through a forest towards the Thulamela Hill, where the Thulamela archeological site can be found.

Thulamela is a stone-walled site which dates back to aproximately 500 years ago. A guided walk can be arranged with a guide through Punda Maria camp, or Pafuri or Outpost Lodge.

On the Nyala road you can be sure to see Nyalas, monkeys baboons and leopard. Sometimes you'll find the rare Suni antelope, and the beautiful crested guinea fowl.

The S63 is 24 kilometers (15 miles) long.
