Birds Paradise in Robertson, Western Cape
For The Birds
Robertson is home to Bird’s Paradise, a magnificent sanctuary for birds of every colour and species. Birds Paradise is an absolute must for animal lovers or, more specifically, bird watchers.
With over a hundred species of birds, visitors arrive to an explosion of colour and squawks! Bird’s Paradise is home to Macaws, Hyacins, Conures, Pelicans and plenty of waterfowls plus many more from Australia, Central America, Peru, Africa and as far away as Northern Wales. Walkways through the Park will take you on a journey through Palm Trees and past cages of colourful and exotic birds and because this is also a breeding centre, some of the birds are tame enough to come right to the front of their cages for a close encounter!
Even though the name implies only birds, the Park also offers a multitude of other animals to visit from monkeys and goats to zebras and crocodiles. Pass the Koi Pond and fountain and you will find yourself at the Curio Shop and Restaurant where you can relax with a delicious meal and beverage of choice, the Restaurant is fully licensed. There is also a large play area for the little ones while the adults enjoy their meal.
