The course is a 9-hole, 70 Par Golf Course with 18 tees. It is 5 720 metres in length and is a Forest Type Course.
The Golf Course is located on the outskirts of this quaint town and undoubtedly enjoys some of the most scenic wooded golf course property in the country. It is surrounded by no less than five nature reserves, one being the very well-known Blyde River Nature Reserve. The course is one of the most beautiful in the area, offering a forest setting with mountains all around.
The Course has a challenging layout and will not be a “walk in the park” for the visiting golfer. It has proved to be more tricky than challenging really, with many golfers underestimating the sixteenth hole in particular and its strategically placed trees and water pond.
The course boasts an historic clubhouse which was built with materials brought up from Groot Marico by ox-wagon in 1932 when the golf course was founded. The atmospheric pub, plentiful birdlife and the scenic course is a must for any visitor to the Pilgrim’s Rest area!
