Tropical Butterfly Centre
Created especially for Butterflies in their unique colours and sizes, Butterflies for Africa is a premier attraction in Pietermaritburg. Bring the family and take a peaceful walk through this beautiful tropical butterfly centre.
Considered among some of the top butterfly Centres from around the globe, Butterflies for Africa boasts a walk-through, wheelchair friendly, butterfly house with a wide array of both indigenous and exotic butterflies. The highlight of your visit is that this lush and spectacular environment brings visitors into close contact with free-flying butterflies and spending time amongst them as they flutter past. The latest addition, a new bridge takes visitors over the stream, which runs through the house, directly into the main flight path of the butterflies. It's a great opportunity to stand next to the cascading waterfall, in the midst of dancing butterflies. Guides are available at all times to assist you at no extra charge.
Apart from learning about these delicate and incredible creatures, inside Butterflies for Africa is also Monkey House as well as Green Iguana and Stick Insect Enclosures.
