Durban University of Technology (DUT) (Riverside Campus) in Wensleydale, Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal

Riverside Campus is one of the two Midlands Campuses. The other one is the Indumiso Campus. Riverside can be found in the suburb of Scottsville with the Golden Horse Casino as its neighbour. This Campus is mainly a commerce campus and has approximately 700 students.

Notable mention

The French Presence in KwaZulu Natal is one of DUT’s Cultural Tourism Research Development Projects. It is called “ La Route du Prince Impérial, Louis Napoléon” and every year they celebrate the French Presence in KZN.

The tradition started 4 year ago and every year on the 16 March everyone at Riverside Campus comes together at the Prince Imperial Rose Garden accompanied by the music of Graeme Turnbull’s Scottish bagpipes. The students sing the French national anthem “Le Marseillaise” and then makecrêpes for everyone to enjoy.
