Strandlopers do it on the beach at Langebaan!
Just outside the quaint little town of Langebaan on the Cape West Coast and only 125 km from Cape Town lies the world famous restaurant Die Strandloper. A very relaxed atmosphere surrounds the families who come and sit at the waters’ edge with sand underfoot and beautiful views of the Langebaan Lagoon.
Come and join us at noon for a casual lunch on the beach and spend the whole afternoon. Join us at 18h00 for dinner and expect to spend the whole evening. We are open for lunch and dinner daily in season; out of season call us for availability. We are licensed, but you're welcome to bring your own.
Die Strandloper offers a 10 course lunch or dinner where meals are served in individual courses over a leisurely three to four hours. Lunch begins at 12h00 and Dinner at 18h00 and it is advised to check their website to ensure they are open – the relaxed atmosphere sometimes determines their opening times, plus their popularity means plenty of bookings and functions.
The main focus is around the open braai area where everything from the mussels in wine and paella potjie to the “moerkoffie” (very strong coffee) is prepared. The awesome food, accompanied by live music, means this unique experience will last all day where the kids will have plenty of fun and your pets are welcome too – they even eat for free!
Kick off your shoes and come and enjoy the most popular seafood restaurant in the country. Bring along a group of friends, your musical instruments, beach games and even your drinks if you want, but be sure to make a booking to guarantee your memorable beach experience! There are a few B&B’s close by if you travelling from out of town and wish to stay over.
