Situated east of Johannesburg's CBD, Pioneers Park, built on top of a reclaimed mine dump, is a lovely spot for a braai or picnic. It is advisable to bring your own portable braai. The floral lush landscape provides for a wonderful half-hour stroll or photo opportunity. The area is "boom-box" and alcohol-free (not allowed) with secure parking. During the summer months flower shows are held in the park.
