The suburb of Stirling is host to the East London Golf Club which is one of the oldest and most established golf clubs in South Africa. The traditional course is laid out amongst undulating hills, dunes and coastal indigenous scrubland. It combines both link and parkland features.
There is a resident family of impala on the course and you can often spot Knysna loeries and many other species of birds in the vicinity.
Stirling High School in Gleneagles Road, Stirling, is a co-educational public school and offers well balanced education which includes Rugby, Cricket, Squash, a Heated Indoor Water Polo pool, Tennis Courts, Gym, Computer Labs, Classrooms with Interactive Whiteboards, and Hostel facilities for boarders.
