Just north of Durban, KwaZulu Natal’s busiest city, lies a true gem on the Dolphin Coast, the Umhlali Country Club. It’s a tropical oasis with magnificent palm lined fairways and is widely renowned as a sporting haven for enthusiasts that need a break from the city-life but don’t have the time to drive for hours.
The course is an 18-hole Parklands type course with Cynodon fairways and Country Club grass greens. With a length of 5948 meters, it has seven water features and the greenest grass coating it all year round!
It was created by South Africa’s premiere course architect, Peter Matkovich, it provides a fantastic golfing test over the relatively short distance of the course. The course was designed to be sculpted around the inherent beauty of the land that it lies on.
The course provides some of the warmest hospitality to not only its club members but to everyday visitors as well. Visitors are only asked to book in advance as Umhlali hosts thousands of visitors every year. The club is the perfect place for any golfer wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, but also provides other sporting facilities for people who might like to change it up!
