Amanzimtoti Bird Sanctuary is situated in the town of Amanzimtoti along the Kwa-Zulu Natal South Coast. It is a wonderful sanctuary for any bird lover, with as many as 150 species of birds to look out for.

The Sanctuary has a tea garden that overlooks a lake where there are many water birds you can not only watch and admire, but can feed too, as some are more than happy to come up to you and take food from your hands. There are also three hides that visitors can relax in and look out for their favourite species.

Sometimes called the Bird Park, it is true to its nickname and has self-guided trails that wind through the sanctuary making you feel like you are in a park soaking up everything and viewing as many birds as possible along the way.

The Sanctuary is an impressive 6 hectares. Here you will find beautiful gardens on the one side and indigenous, lush and stunning forests on the other - pick one to relax in or why not wonder through both! Either way you are in for a relaxing treat as the scenes around you are perfect to calm the mind.
