A trout fishing haven!
Highmoor Nature Reserve is situated in the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park which is part of the Maloti-Drakensberg Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highmoor can be found in the centre of the park, south of Giant’s Castle Nature Reserve and north of Kamberg and Lotheni Nature Reserves. It consists of 14 749 ha of unspoilt land with rolling high altitude grasslands and mountains, including 2 dams of well stocked trout which makes this reserve a must, for the avid fly fisherman.

- Fishing - 2 well stocked tout dams. Permits are available at the office at a daily rate. (only between 1 March to 31 June and 1 September to 31 December)
- San Rock Art - at Fulton Rock, a 5 hour scenic hike from the camp's office.

Campsites
There are seven well-appointed sites with hot and cold running water and flush toilets with barbecue facilities at each site.
Caves
There are 2 caves for overnight stays only and have to be booked well in advance. No toilet facilities are available and spades and trowels need to be carried at all times for this purpose. Only official overnight sites can be to be used.
- Caracal Cave - accommodates 12 people and is 3.5 km walk from camp office.
- Aasvoëlkrans Cave - accommodates 12 people 4 km from the office and ideal for family and beginner hikers.
