Ontdek Suid-Afrika
lug jou kop uit die sand

Suiderstrand is a little coastal town lying only 5 km’s from Cape Agulhas Lighthouse, its main beach, the Suiderstand Beach is considered a hidden gem not known by many, but certainly worth a visit!

Suiderstrand is an Afrikaans word literally meaning “Southern Beach”, aptly named as it is within hiking distance of the Southernmost tip of Africa which lies within the Cape Agulhas National Park. The town and beach are surrounded by the National Park which, as you can well imagine, means the Suiderstrand Beach is a pristine stretch of natural beauty and because it is surrounded by a National Park the area is protected and within this area one can find mammals, reptiles, birds and insects.

Rockpools on the beach are teeming with sea creatures allowing both young and old a full day of exploring. The beach environment also offers interesting flora and fauna as well as an opportunity to go hunting for the perfect pebbles in an area where the beach sand virtually makes way for a pebbled bay area.

Set across this sleepy seaside village, the gorgeous white sands are just the spot for building sand castles, long walks or merely enjoying the seclusion on the beach that ensures there is something for the whole family.
