Nahoon Strand, Oos-Londen, Oos-Kaap
Nahoon Beach is East London's most popular beach and is named after a local Xhosa chief. It is home to the East London Surf Life Saving Club with kilometres of un-crowded, un-polluted sand to the north and a rocky point to the south which has a constructed boardwalk reaching all the way round to Nahoon Corner giving one a bird's eye view of the famous Nahoon Reef surf spot.
Nahoon Beach is famous throughout the South African surfing community for producing some very impressive waves and it is host to many national surfing competitions.
The Nahoon River flows into the sea creating a shallow, clear estuary which is a favourite amongst the local fishermen and also provides safe bathing for those that do not wish to brave the surf.
There is a large car park adequately catering for all the daily visitors.
The suburb of Nahoon Beach developed around this idylic setting.
