Langebaan Hoof Strand in Langebaan, Wes-Kaap

Langebaan Main Beach is situated only 600 metres from the centre of the quaint seaside village of the same name. It is easily accessible from the main road which is conveniently lined with shops and restaurants. It takes about 10 minutes to walk the main road and this is the centre of all Langebaan activities.

Langebaan Main Beach is a long, wide, white sandy strip providing amazing launch spots and so naturally is the hotspot for where all the watersport hire happens. On weekends there are plenty of locals and holiday makers launching boats from the jetty and slipway with plenty of families enjoying jetskiing and being pulled around on tubes. Be sure to lookout for shallow waters however, if you do find yourself out that way you can anchor your boat and wade out to the sand bank and “pump for prawns”, let the local and experienced fishermen show you how.

The water temperature is perfect for a cool dip and the sand stretches as far as the eye can see providing visitors to the sunny beach a long lazy walk along the shoreline. The beach is safe and family friendly with shallow water as well as the Lagoon for safer swimming!
