The Denlyn Play Park and Craft Market is a P.L.A.Y. community project situated in Langebaan, the small seaside village along the West Coast. The Parents Lobbying for Active Youth (P.L.A.Y.) committee formed in 2005 with the aim of upgrading and renovating the only children’s play park in Langebaan.

Volunteers from Langebaan realized the need for an outdoor entertainment area and decided to upgrade Denlyn Park and make it a youth centre the community can be proud of. Mykonos Casino and the West Coast Trust both donated sizable cash donations in 2009 which allowed for the skateboard park and outdoor youth centre to be built. The kiddies play park now has safe and new playground equipment and facilities also include a mini train and Boulle court.

Unfortunately the Clubhouse is incomplete due to lack of funds, however, this has not hampered the community and the Park is used extensively for birthday parties, every day outdoor fun and even a monthly craft market. The craft market is held every last Saturday of the month and has over 30 stalls selling a variety of homemade items and fresh produce. Everything you could hope to shop for is at this little craft market with plenty of homemade goodies and gifts.

The Craft Market also has a host of entertainment with Thomas the Train, face painting, sand art, peddle cars, ponies and jumping castles. Live music keeps all the visitors entertained throughout the day, so if you visiting, come and join in the fun and collect a holiday keepsake!
