Cape Nature at its Best
The beautiful seaside village of Grotto Bay lies less than an hour outside of Cape Town and right next door to the Grotto Bay Private Nature Reserve.
Grotto Bay may be just a small spec on the Cape West Coast, but it is a dream destination for nature lovers – kilometres of unspoilt coastline, abundant birdlife and hours of hiking trails! The Coastal Nature Reserve is 378 000 hectares, alive with fynbos and bird life that includes the threatened black oyster catcher, and forms part of the Cape West Coast Biosphere Reserve.
Grotto Bay is also a wonderful destination for spotting whales during whale season, but if the gorgeous beach and incredible nature is not enough to entice you then know that Darling, Yzerfontein and Philadelphia are all only a few minutes drive and offer wonderful attractions.
Grotto Bay offers affordable accommodation in the form of Guesthouses, self-catering cottages and B&B’s for your holiday stay or weekend getaway.
