South Africa
skoonheid jy sal nooit vergeet nie

The Huguenot Monument is situated in the town of Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

It was in 1988 that South Africa celebrated the 300th Anniversary of the arrival of the French Huguenots to our country, who form an indelible part of our history. To mark this auspicious occasion, a small monument was erected behind the Town Hall in Church Square. The monument is in the form of a pyramid and displays the surnames of Huguenot’s that first arrived in South Africa in 1688. It was unveiled by the French Consular representative in South Africa, Gerold Perrolet, on 15 April 1988.
