Soweto Beer Festival

Oldest Beer Festival in SA

It was the owners of one of Soweto’s leading dining and entertainment venue, Masakeng, who back in 1999, started the small in-house event that grew into Soweto’s biggest party event to date, the Soweto Beer Festival.

The Festival may not be a Craft Beer event, however many craft breweries have been signed up to represent their brands over the festival weekend and of course the event is all about beer so patrons will not be disappointed as there will be over 50 beers and ciders to taste and sample. For those who are not beer fanatics, there will be wine and other drinks available as well as some of the best traditional Soweto cuisine such as Pap & Vleis, Kota and Magwinya. Other delicious dishes such as Sushi and kebabs have also been introduced in recent years.

Complementing the weekend of fine beer and food is an awesome line up of local talent. DJ’s and local bands will entertain guests over the duration of the festival so bring a crowd and come and enjoy a traditional Soweto party!
