The Mediclinic Plettenberg Bay is a private hospital and forms part of the Medi Clinic Southern Africa Group operating in South Africa and Namibia with over 8 000 beds between the 49 private hospitals throughout South Africa and 3 hospitals in Namibia.

The hospital was originally a care unit for retirement villages in the area and was commissioned by the Mediclinic Group in 2006. Today is the only private hospital in the popular tourist town of Plettenberg Bay. It services both private and medical aid patients in the area. Private patients are required to make a pre-payment covering the estimated cost of the procedure or service.

Mediclinic Plettenberg Bay may be the smallest in the Group however it still follows the typical layout and superb standard with state-of-the-art facilities as with all the other hospitals. It is a multi-disciplinary institution which provides comprehensive healthcare including 24hr emergency services, 7 days a week, as well as a specialised wound care nursing unit.
