Vredefort Dome Festival in Parys, Free State

Adventure is the Name of the Game

Parys loves adventure and the Vredefort Dome Festival is a way for this Free State town to showcase its strengths by offering more heart-stopping adventure activities than any other tourist town in South Africa.

The adventure festivals main focus is obviously on sport and adventure and will be hosting no less than 14 different sports disciplines for participants to choose from. The events will be taking place at various venues in Parys and the surrounds, with the main arena being at the Afridome grounds. Some of the events to look forward to include a Park Run, Kayaking, The Dome Warrior Race, Box Cart Racing, Dragon Boat Race and many more other exciting activities.

The Vredefort Dome Festival also gives the town an opportunity to celebrate more than just sport and there will be plenty to do for those not participating in any adventure activities. Craft Stalls, live entertainment from local stars such as Kurt Darren, Black Byrd, Charoney and many more, plus lots of traditional South African food to savour! Exhibitors have been carefully selected to compliment the theme of the event – “Adventure Tourism”.

The festival is expected to attract over 3000 participants so book your accommodation early and come join in the adventure of a lifetime!
