Durban is known for its golden beaches and warm waters and Durban’s North Beach is no exception being an extremely popular place during the festive season and December school holidays. Thousands of tourists’ flock to the beach to have some fun in the sun. The warm waters have the ideal swimming conditions, however, during these months it could be hard to find a spot on the sand.

Located on the east coast of South Africa, Durban’s North Beach is located on the Golden Mile which is a strip of Durban’s best beaches. Flanked by long piers that are perfect for long strolls and dotted with all sorts of food joints, public pools as well as a merry-go-round, North Beach is certainly built for any type of fun.

The beach is run by the Durban Surf Lifesaving Club, it is clean and safe and has many amenities to keep you and your family amused for ages. This beach is very popular for surfers, body boarders and paddle skiers and the promenade behind the beach is great for skateboarders too.

Just a little back from the beach and promenade, you will see a row of buildings with some of the best hotels and self-catering apartments that North Beach has to offer, with great views of the beach and sea combined, so it doesn’t get any better than this.
