Five Star Golfing

The Pearl Valley Golf Course is situated in the picturesque Berg River Valley, just outside Paarl and about 30 minutes from Stellenbosch and Franschhoek . The Course is surrounded by the beautiful Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountain Ranges.

The course is an 18-hole, 74 Par Parklands style golf course, 6 090 meters in length with combination fairways and bent grass greens. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and was opened in 2003 by the two golfing greats, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.

All the par 3’s as well as par 5’s are done in different directions making sure that the same conditions are almost never experienced on the course. The signature hole, and arguably also the most scenic by far, would be number 13 which is a par 3. With the water cutting from the right as well as a greenside bunker awaiting the cautious tee off, this hole definitely tests your nerves as well as your skill. The 4^th Hole has often been referred to as the best par 5 in South Africa, there is no room for any mistakes as you cross the creek three times on your way to an exceptionally tricky green.

Pearl Valley Golf Course has been named the Best Conditioned Golf Course in the Western Cape by Golf Digest for 5 years straight from 2010 to 2014. It was also awarded the honour of The Compleat Golfers’ Five Star Experience Award for six consecutive years.

Incredibly scenic with lush fairways and greens, spotted with no less than 81 white river sand bunkers, ensures that this course rates among some of the most exciting ever built.
